Obsessions

I realised that I've been posting a little more frequently on this blog.

It's either because:

1) Way too many things have been going on lately and I have so much to say to that.

2) I'm lonely and I now talk to my blog because I can't talk to my wall.

It should be the first one...I think.

I was reading through my old posts and it makes me want to scratch my eyes out (and put them back later) because ugh, my writing is awful.

If anyone is wondering, yes, I do write very much like a 10 year old. No, I am actually 14 going on 15.

So anyway, this blog post have been cleverly titled "Obsessions". If you think that this post will be about obsessions, you are correct and deserve a gold star.

Or a silver one. I ran out of gold star stickers at home.

How about red? I've got only three silver ones left and I would like to use them for something else.

This post is focusing on my fashion obsessions. Only because in the future I can look back at these fashion obsessions I currently have and cringe.

So this is like a record book...in digital blog-y format.

For comparison sake, I have decided to list my fashion obsessions when I was 11.

Hi! It's me! 11 yr old and aaaaall. Anyway, I LOVE BLACK HIGH TOPS. DID I TELL YOU HW AMAZING N FANTASTIC THEY ARE. THEY ARE LYK THE BEST THING EVER!!! If I could, I would dress like Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place evrydy bcos her outfits are so pretty and awesome! LYK WHOOOO SKINNY JEANS AND BRIGHT HAPPY LALALA COLOURS. There is lyk tis outfit which was a light purple thin sweater-y thingy matched wth this dark purple polo and pink jeans. Sunglasses r totally cool too. Lyk the biggie ones. I love hats and vests too. Me luv me some hats and vests!!!!!!

I had just put myself through a few minutes of cringing and torture just to type out something that amuses a non-existant reader. Yes, this is how I typed when I was 11 as a result receiving my first phone, being introduced to the world of short forms and the Internet and trying to fit in.
However, I have since changed and can assure you I have never been classier as I am now.

Despite the pastel trend that has been showing up everywhere, I haven't actually thought much about it.

However, I am obsessing over denim long sleeve tops and shades of green and blue.

And matching all of that together.

AND BOW TIES AND TIES AND ALL THE TIES.

I still really like bright colours.

Oh and those clear plastic coats which look so amazing when you layer them over bright colour clothing!

I really like suspenders too.

SHADES OF GREEN AND BLUE GREEN AND BLUE GREEN AND BLUE GREEN AND BLUE.

I love satchel bags. I WILL OWN ONE SOMEDAY.

AND TIES MORE TIES YAY TIES HAPPY TIES TIES TIES MORE MORE MORE TIES TIES.
The formal and dressy blazers.

I blogged about chapeaus didn't I? Chapeaus are like grand pieces of art on your head.

SUSPENDERS, I WILL OWN A PAIR IN EVERY COLOUR OF THE RAINBOW.

That is seven. So seven pairs.

I want blazers with patterns and shirts with patterns and match all the patterns!

MATCH ALL THE PATTERNS!

See the stuff above? That is what I call a mind map. It is when you map out thoughts in your head and this corner of your brain takes down notes like it. I decided the remove the filter for a couple of minutes and type down this.

Wasn't that fun? *puts back filter*

Toodles!

Unexpected Things

First of all, I just managed to update the blog without having a two week gap between this post and the previous post. So here's a round of applause!

And even if there is no one to clap due to the fact no one seems to read this blog anymore, I can assure myself that I happen to have an applause toy gun and when I pull the trigger, the two yellow hands at the front will knock into each other like the cymbals that toy monkeys hold, producing sound or a.k.a applause.

Oh and they were showing Disney's Aladdin on TV yesterday! The Magic Flying Carpet is still my favourite character.

So this will be a quick post seeing how it's 1 AM in the morning.

I had this sudden realisation like what-I'm-a-teenager-when.

This is not what I envisioned.

Well, everyone still pretty much towers over me. Asdfghjkl sigh. Like people on tumblr make fun of Darren Criss's height, and I'm like if he's a hobbit that makes me a darn rabbit.

A hyperactive rabbit who can't stay on one topic and is way to talkative for its own good.

Okay, rabbits cannot speak but let's go with "Talking Rabbit which is 68% less adorable than the others".

There. we. go.

OH WAIT AN IMPORTANT THING! I read this a while back in the newspapers but there is going to be a Harry Potter exhibition at the ArtScience Museum! Asdfghjkl, I can't wait!

It will be fantastic and IT WILL LIVE UP TO EVERYONE'S DAMN EXPECTATIONS. GREAT EXPECTATIONS. (That's right, I just quoted a book title!) This will be the only expected thing in this "unexpected post".

By the way, since we are on the topic of the ArtScience Museum, I went there recently with Zoey to catch the Titanic exhibition!

That is a picture of the logbook in which we left messages behind. While Zoey chooses to write about her fascination for the Titanic and the exhibition, I decided to focus on my freezing fingers. If you are wondering why the words "Half-iguana" have been scribbled on in a corner, it is simply because it was during the exhibit that I came to realise my imaginary ancestry could be part Iguana. Remember, it is imaginary; please don't take me away for lab experiments.

Anyway, if you want to know what the exhibition is like, you can ask anyone else about it because I'm not going to describe it and turn this blog post into a brochure.

Ooh, they had a re-created of the Grand Staircase which was all pretty and really grand and I really wanted to stand on it to have my little moment because it seemed so romantic in a way and I'm actually such a hopeless romantic and all that.

Yay really long sentence. Unfortunately, you can only stand on it if you have your photo taken. I didn't want to so I begged the nice lady sitting on the steps to let me do a little tap-dancing on it.

GUESS WHAT, SHE LET ME! She's much nicer than the next girl who took over and didn''t allow me to.

Since I have the urge to change the topic, school uniforms are comfy.

P.S. I tried on my brother's old lab coat recently and it's pretty comfy too. I am convinced that I can sleep in that thing.

The First Post In March

I had the most brilliant idea.

So it starts like this, for our school's anniversary production, we get to dress up in some outfit of a certain occupation. I am going to wear something artsy to reflect my interest in Language and the Arts but like in a symbolic-you-don't-see-it-unless-you-see-it-in-modern-art-ways.

This is more to the language side but I am going to be a SCIENTIST!

I know it's kind of funny considering that it a scientist has a scientific job but this is where the literary part comes in.

IRONY.

The thing is I am not dressing up as a scientist but I am dressing up as IRONY.

And it is ironic because I absolutely loathe science. LIKE UGH SCIENCE.

Here I am, with the choice to dress up as anything I want, I chose something that does not represent me or my interest.

Yet, it also represents the irony commonly used in stories and things.

I AM DRESSING UP AS IRONY.

And in a way, yes, I am refusing to dress up in a certain occupation for I simply chose to call my choice of outfit "Irony".

Due to the fact that I am unable to stay on one topic for long, we shall just jump to the topic of fashion.

Simply because I feel the need to blog this.

Yesterday, I was at the bus stop when I saw this grandma sitting there.

When people look at her, most people will think she dressed in the dark or something because she's got a rainbow beaded necklace, a blouse with different shades of pink, grey trousers rolled above the ankles, purple socks with silver stripes, blue shoes and a brown satchel bag.

WELL NO BECAUSE GRANNY GAVE ME INSPIRATION.

Like, I call this Grandma-inspired Hipster Chic.

Anyway, I'm starting this bunch of sketches with the original grandma outfit and the new and improved I'm-so-hip-because-hipsters-style-but-I-don't-know-old-women-dress-like-me kind of thing. I even realised the grandma had tied her hair into a fancy bun like those in fashion magazines when they have a special hairstyle issue!

Ever since then, I've paid a little more attention to the elderly.

Especially the nice old lady who lives across me.

She smiles alot.

I don't know if I'll upload any sketches here but if I do, I will.

Because if I do it means that I "will" has already been carried out.

Also, anyone still reading this blog?

Join The Awkward Club

This post is dedicated to all the awkward moments anyone has ever had.

You may refer to awkwardness as the long silence that follows the terrible jokes I always crack.

Sigh.

I Have Not Abandoned This Blog

It's just that I've been really busy and I'm kind of torn on what to post here.

I shall start with a small idea I had anyway.

Every year, my school has this "Graduation Night" thing where everyone wears pretty little dresses and pose for pictures around a round table. Just check our yearbooks.

But can you not see how much potential this "Graduation Night" can have?

Everyone could have worn some sort of armour like outfit and we can all re-enact Arthurian Legends!

And we've got a round table for it!

Or we can wear really cool chapeaus inspired by stuff in Camelot.

Like a miniature round table on a hat with miniature glasses and things.

CHAPEAUS. I want to wear one once a week.

I've been making cone hats recently like the "Loser" ones but replacing them with "I'm awful at Maths" to wear to school.

However they've gone missing. What a pity because I only used white paper and black markers to make it and it wasn't against school rules because the colours were allowed for hair accessories.

I could pretty much call this post "Story Time 2" but I've obviously decided not to. So instead, I shall just share the story I have prepared.

I wrote another Klaine story, yay! But really, I've written more than one since the last one I wrote but this one I think I'll post here.

Because I like how Rachel is written in this one. It's pretty much Klaine with a side of AnderBerry sibling revolving around the events in a small theatre.

I hope no one has written such thing yet.

If you're confused, the story takes place in both the past and present. And this would be Chapter 1.

Like a prolouge.

Go read it now if you're interested.

It's right below.

It started off as a simple job to sweep up the theatre to earn a little more allowance.

Blaine did not notice the boy walking in.

He noticed the voice though, it was breathtaking and...he’d describe it later when he could think clearly.

But right now, the piercing blue (or green?) eyes were looking back at his as he clutched his broom in a corner near the stage.

“You didn’t clap for me.” the boy sighed, giving his hair a small pat.

“Uh...um, sorry, didn’t hear that.”

“You’ve been here the entire time and you didn’t clap for me.”

“Oh um...sorry. But you were amazing.”

“I know,” he smiled.

Blaine chose to smile back, finding the situation rather familiar.

It started off as a simple, little bit of exploring due to curiosity.

The small girl with the loud voice did not notice him walking in.

“You’ve been here the entire time and you didn’t clap for me?”

“I...uh...sorry! You sing really well though!”

“I know,” she smiled, “My daddies always tell me that. How did you get in here? I didn’t notice you.”

“Oh...um...I...I...uh...snuck in.” He squirmed uncomfortably from where he sat, his voice growing softer as he continued to speak, “Please don’t chase me out!”

“Okay, but I have to let my daddies know you’re here.”

Blaine had ran away during a field trip to Lima with the orphanage he stayed at and ended up in the small theatre owned by the Berry’s.

At that same day, Rachel had discovered adoption at school before coming to the theatre. When she had learnt that Blaine was from an orphanage and was later taken back, she had become very upset. She begged Hiram and Leroy Berry to let her adopt Blaine and constantly whined that she will “never become a star” if they did not let her. Chuckling, Hiram simply explained to Rachel why she herself would not be able to adopt him and would consider giving Blaine a place in their family after making sure they had enough money to support him and got to know him.

Rachel pouted, insisting that she already knew Blaine despite talking to him for a few minutes and then singing to him for the rest of the hour. She understood though. Rachel knew that a star had to be understanding and if they did not have enough money, they would not be able to buy Blaine his own microphone to match hers.

To Hiram and Leroy’s delight, Blaine was a pleasant boy who simply listed singing as one of his hobbies. (“I told you so!” squealed Rachel.) To Rachel’s dismay, Blaine would only join their family months later when the adoption was finalized but she had already told him that she was his sister by then.

She had also told him that she had gotten him a matching sparkly microphone.

When Rachel first saw her daddies walking into the house with Blaine, she threw her arms around him and gave him an enthusiastic welcome. Slightly surprised, Blaine mumbled something that sound like Ouch and thank you.

Despite the fact that Blaine felt terribly confused as Rachel pulled him down to the basement to do a duet from Wicked (“The best musical ever!” exclaimed Rachel.) and had a piece of paper which had printed words on them, shoved into his hands, there was a grin on his face, forgetting that Rachel was barking orders for him to sing the part of Glinda. For Blaine, becoming part of their family was one of the best things that would ever happen to him.

“I have to let my dads know though.”

“Why?”

“Because they own the very stage you are standing on now.”

“Oh, I’ll have to leave don’t I?”

“No, no...just...you can stay.”

“Good to know.”

“I’m Blaine by the way.”

“I’m...Kurt.”

Though Blaine doesn’t know it yet, the very same family had given him the opportunity to experience the other best thing that would ever happen to him.

I think I've gotten some of my facts about adoption wrong but I'll sort it out later.

Hello 2012!

It's finally the first day of 2012!

Well, I suppose the year is rather new.

After all, we threw a birthday party for it yesterday.

We had candles, fancy matchsticks, napkins, cake and green plastic forks.

We sat at the top of the mall and we burned the remains of the cake and corners of some napkins.

Green simply because it reminded us of Slytherin and Slytherin does not settle for anything less.

Oh and thanks to Angela for tweeting me the picture above!

Anyway, since 2012 is kind of new and all that, I decided someone need to show them the ropes!

And I shall be the one to do so!

Hello 2012, you've got lots of potential.

All of us claim to have big expectations of you don't we.

Some of us using simple words like good or fun.

Others choose to use words such as idiosyncratic or even boisterous.

There are many words one would use, and if you don't know some of them, I can tell you that in my years growing up, I found a copy of a dictionary to be very useful.

I'm sure you'll be a fast learner, 2012.

But aren't some of the words used above used to describe people?

Then again, 2012, you're treated very much like a human. All the expectations of you.

But take it from me 2012, as your senior 2011 once said...

Well, it said nothing actually.

The thing is, I think what we expect is not a duration to make our lives pleasant or even acceptable.

Sure, 2012, you can enjoy the nice feeling of being on everyone's worksheets or calenders but really don't be bothered by our expectations.

What we expect really, is probably to see if we have changed for the better.

Testing if we've learnt from our mistakes that we made in the previous year to see if we've gotten any better.

So to 2012, you're responsibility is give us all a chance to prove ourselves right.

That we've learnt from the mistakes we made in 2011.

Sure, we'll make mistakes again when you're around, 2012.

And people will be angry and frustrated at their mistakes again.

People may say nasty things like You're boring, 2012 or 2012 has been crummy and awful, you can always think, hey, at least you were there to make 2013 a little less horrid.

So here's to you 2012, I know you can't drink grape soda(or anything really) but thanks for being here, and here's my words to you:

Good Luck and have fun being on everyone's calendar!

And to 2011, thank you.

For giving me the chance to change my life again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And I hope 2012's version of me will make you proud.

It's Christmas!

It's finally Christmas!

Time to flail about in non-existent snow!

Anyway, it's fun facts time. Today I'm going to share about Kwanzaa! That's a celebration for the African-Americans in the United States which starts from tomorrow (26 December) to January the first!

Kwanzaa was created by Maulana Karenga who was a major figure in a Black Power movement from the 1960s to the 1970s. "Black Power" is a political slogan.

Anyway, Kwanzaa is to celebrate the culture and history of the African-Americans! According to wikipedia, a greeting is Joyous Kwanzaa.

And that is another holiday in December!

Oh that reminds me, on Thursday, I got to go to Vidhya's house which I named "The Jungle Book House".

I think calling it "The Jungle Book House" sounds like Mowgli has some headquarters there or something!

It was rather funny in the morning because I didn't know how to work the new iron my family bought recently.

And since there was no one at home, I ended up ironing my wrinkly t-shirt by aiming a hairdryer at the base of the iron and pushing it over the t-shirt!

Well, from my theory, the hairdryer should provide the heat and the iron can help press down the creases.

I'm pleased to say it worked out pretty okay!

Angela, Franky, Eva and Amanda came too so we got to watch Harry Potter and play scrabble.

There was even a point that Eva said she wanted to flip the board.

She did in the end.

Oh and Vidhya got me a book of Shakespeare's works so I thought I seemed rather smart carrying it home!

I'll finish it later.

We got to freak out over insects and we got addicted to watching this person make instant miniature food.

And what would a gathering be like without a dash of Snoopy Street Fair?

THE BAAAAAAAAARE NECESITIEEEEEEEEEEES!

That was to keep the post from getting boring!

Still, Happy Christmas to everyone! Pity I couldn't enjoy it as much as I would usually. I still have uncompleted homework and I'm kind of worried about it.

Next year, maybe I'll do it earlier.

Or maybe I'll just procrastinate again.

Have a great Christmas!
